G12 Conference Session 9: Your Best is Yet to Come, Art Sepulveda
G12 Conference Session 9: Your Best is Yet to Come, Art SepulvedaReporter: Jesslyn Chia
We all encounter obstacles and face inhibitions that make us wonder if it is ever possible to reach out to the multitudes. However, to quote Hebrews 6:13, “For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying: “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”
There are two things we need to possess in order for blessings and multiplication to occur in our midst.
We need God’s world view
Firstly, we have to possess God’ world view.
God told us to imagine the impossible. The 2 key words in the abovementioned verse are:
i. Blessing
ii. Multiplication.
The crux of the sermon is encapsulated in this statement:
In this day, God will expand your vision, ignite your passion and make you dream like you have never dreamt before. Call on the Holy Spirit for extra empowerment to let you imagine the impossible. Invite God into your heart to do the miraculous.

Looking at the world with the eyes of God
Rationally, it is incredible to us to envision the harvest field and all the sowing that needs to be done. But we have to step into a whole new dimension, so we can step out of the ordinary into a whole new dimension of the extraordinary. Once we see what God sees, we can do what God wants us to do.
Blessing
The meaning of the word “blessing” is, to be
i. Highly favoured,
ii. Empowered,
iii. Impossible to be cursed and
iv. Anointed to win.
God’s vision is about winning souls and making disciples. We shouldn’t look at the multitudes as mere numbers, because these are real people who need God’s power and life that He has blessed us with. And he has charged us with the commission to set others free.
We are history-makers
Our mission to win the multitudes will be marked in the books. There is a paradigm shift occurring in our midst. More and more churches are being built; more lives are being saved. It is our moment to seize the birthright that God has for us.
Whatever it is, no matter how impossible it may seem, if it is consistent with the Kingdom of God, you must strive for it.
The G12 vision is changing the church in a powerful way. There are no longer anymore borders or boundaries that prevent us from reaching the multitudes. Regardless of the country or region you live in, there are people who need your anointing. And they are now within your reach.
However, there is one qualification – power must still flow through the church. Hence we must reach out to people through the church.
We need to understand our purpose
The model to follow in understanding one’s purpose is Paul. He had constantly exhorted his disciples to follow him as he follows the Lord. Paul’s ideal is Christ and Paul is always aspiring to imitate Christ as best he can. This is exactly what we should do too.
Two key roles we should play:
i. A minister – A minister is one who gives and imparts and pours out his life.
ii. A witness – A witness is one who testifies and who also ministers.
In Acts 26:16, Paul recounts his conversion to King Agrippa, where he had his encounter with Jesus. Jesus told Paul,
“But rise and stand on your feet; for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to make you a minister and a witness both of the things which you have seen and of the things which I will yet reveal to you…”
Our assignment on earth, our great commission, is to found in v 18. Paul is further told, in v 18, that he will be sent to “open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in [Jesus].”
We are called to this very vision. And there is power flowing through the church if we all collectively submit to this same vision. To reach out to the communities, we have to be rooted to a church.
A church united in the same vision will be as what God had intended. In Genesis 11:6: “And the Lord said, ‘Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.’”
